Motion Kit knows your camera's physical distance to any focused point with the help of Lens calibration files which can be downloaded to the app directly from the ever-growing LENS CENTER, or you can calibrate your lens yourself in a couple of minutes and save for future use. 
Since the system already knows how itself is moving, and also knows the targets distance, it can lock on to that target and focus on it no matter where you slide your camera!
Not compatible with servo lenses (focus by wire).
